GECKO Hospitality: Two Scots Come To Colorado

Back in September, the St. Andrew Society was invited out to Boulder to meet two young Scots who traveled from Scotland to spend a week at Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.

Kaitlyn McGibbon (Glasgow) and Ben Smith (Loch Lomond) were awarded the prestigious HIT Scotland scholarship that gave them the opportunity to spend 5 days training at the Boulder campus.

Our marketing director, Samantha Hurst, spent one evening with the whole team who put the whole thing together at Pizzeria Alberico in Boulder. It was a great experience to witness these young folks get the opportunity to learn and grow right here in Colorado. Sharing culture and food is a great way to make friends, learn new things, and build our community.

SASC hopes to be more involved in hosting future Scots as the program continues to provide opportunities for aspiring chefs to grow.
